What Professional Guardians Need to Know

Presented by: Alena Miles, Esq., LL.M. (Taxation), CPA

This presentation will equip guardians with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complex process of filing taxes on behalf of their wards. Attendees will learn how to approach filing back taxes, even when complete records are unavailable, and gain clarity on their responsibilities and potential liabilities. Guardians will also walk away with practical strategies for addressing past tax debts when a ward’s resources are limited.

SPEAKER BIO

Alena Miles is the founder of Attorney Legal, P.A., a tax law practice offering services in federal and international tax planning, transactions, consulting, and controversy resolution. With over 15 years of experience in the tax field, including working for various CPA firms such as Big Four accounting firms, Alena is both a Tax Attorney with an LL.M. in Taxation and a CPA.

Throughout her career, Alena has worked with businesses of all sizes, including partnerships, corporations, LLCs, private equity funds, and individuals. She brings a comprehensive understanding of complex tax laws to her clients, providing guidance on structuring transactions, managing tax obligations, and resolving tax controversies. Alena’s broad experience allows her to offer practical and effective solutions for her clients' diverse tax-related needs.
